he Pump Room contains such mechanical equipment as water pumps, compressors, filtration tanks, and refrigeration system. Circuit breakers allowed staff to turn power on and off for various machinery at different levels of the Powerhouse. 

Today the room serves as a visitor's center, a welcome area for guests arriving prior to estate tours, an area to review display boards that identify historical periods about the Fords at Fair Lane and the Fords’ impact on society.
