Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying:
And this same flower that smiles to-day
To-morrow will be dying

The Music Room around 1935

air Lane's Music Room made a bright and spacious setting for hosting family gatherings, recitals and dances. Relatives were always welcome, most especially children. Here they would gather to play " The Glow Worm " on the specially-built Steinway player piano, arrange chairs for a magic show, or spend a lazy afternoon on the terrace gazing down Jensen's "Great Meadow", which he called the "Path of the Setting Sun."

The immense hand-carved fireplace of Connemara marble and Italian walnut Coromondel wood was added to this room in 1920 and contains a few carved lines from Robert  Herrick’s  poem,  “Gather Ye

Rose Buds.” French Aubusson tapestries next to the fireplace date from the 17th century.
Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying:
And this same flower that smiles to-day
To-morrow will be dying

Still standing vigil over the Music Room, is the large portrait of Mr. Ford's beloved mother, Mary Litogot Ford.
