The Music Room

Lane's Music Room made a bright and
spacious setting for hosting family
gatherings, recitals and dances. Relatives were
always welcome, most especially
children. Here
they would gather to play " The Glow Worm " on
the specially-built Steinway player piano,
arrange chairs for a magic show, or
spend a lazy afternoon on the terrace
gazing down Jensen's "Great
Meadow", which
he called the "Path of the Setting
Sun."
The
immense hand-carved fireplace of Connemara
marble and Italian walnut Coromondel wood was added to this room in 1920 and contains a few
carved lines from Robert Herrick’s
poem, “Gather Ye
