Interested in local and national gardening
associations, she was a founding member of the
Women's National Farm and Garden Club (eight
years of service, 1926-1934 as president) and was the first president
of the Garden Club of Dearborn. She often held garden
parties at the estate, many times in the
Formal Rose
Garden,
which contained more than 10,000
rosebushes.
