riginal Louis XVI style, 18th century furniture appoints the Master Bedroom. The fireplace is 18th century English Wedgwood. An adjoining sleeping porch was used by the Fords for sleeping during the hotter evenings of summer. Mr. Ford’s dressing room, contains four full length mirrors and closet space to rival his wife's private rooms on the other side of the chamber.

In this bedroom on April 7, 1947 Henry Ford passed away, succumbing to a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 83. Due to a flood, which had overwhelmed the Rouge River and disabled his beloved Powerhouse, Mr. Ford died in a room lit by candle and oil lamp, not unlike the conditions under which he was born.
