he "Great Meadow" also known as the "Path of the Setting Sun," stretches from the terrace of the Music Room to the hidden man-made lake barely visible in the distance. Jensen strategically placed the meadow to greet guests approaching the residence or to say "good bye" to those glancing back as they departed. 

Mr. and Mrs. Ford often walked these meadows and flowering woods in summer. In the winter months, Mr. Ford invited friends to join him for winter ice skating parties down at the Skating House.
