In
the Garage, a system of electrical outlets was available for recharging electric cars.
Initially incorporated for the proposed Edison-Ford electric cars, the outlets were probably only used for servicing
Clara Ford's Detroit
Electric.
The car currently on display is a 1915 Model 54 Brougham, which was owned by Mrs. Helen (Henry) B. Joy, wife of the president of the Packard Motor Car Company. Her initials, HBJ are on the side door of the car.
Mrs. Ford's car had wired spokes as opposed to this one that has wooden spokes. This car is on loan from the Detroit Historical Museum.
