lara Ford's 1914 Detroit Electric Model 47 Brougham resided at Fair Lane from 1916 until the 1930's. The car was used by Mrs. Ford on the estate and as she traveled around Dearborn, visiting her friend, Mrs. Mina Ives and sister, Mrs. Eva Brubaker.

In the Garage, a system of electrical outlets was available for recharging electric cars. Initially incorporated for the proposed Edison-Ford electric cars, the outlets were probably only used for servicing Clara Ford's Detroit Electric.

The car currently on display is a 1915 Model 54 Brougham, which was owned by Mrs. Helen (Henry) B. Joy, wife of the president of the Packard Motor Car Company. Her initials, HBJ are on the side door of the car. Mrs. Ford's car had wired spokes as opposed to this one that has wooden spokes. This car is on loan from the Detroit Historical Museum.
